Photography

We all like to take and share photos or maybe thats just me! I am probably the only one you will meet who will ask you if I can see your holiday photos! Having always had an interest in photography I keep a small digital in my bag incase some scenery or situation grabs my attention.

In this section I was thinking it would be great to set up a topic/subject and see what results can be captured.

Composition is always a good place to start with picture taking as it gives the general feel to the picture. Composition is how we chose to frame our subject and in turn can show it in its best environment/light.

If you are a more able M.E'r, whilst on your journys see if you can take a bit more exciting/interesting photo of your local church or town feature-use its surroundings to frame it ie: tree's, gates etc.

For those not so able or who spend more time indoors, pets can make an interesting subject...maybe not mine as they spend 98% of the day asleep but still, yours might be active! Try to see if you can capture thier personality in an action shot.

I've included some photos below to help give idea's of pictures to take:

Butterfly feeding..
Squirrel in tree
Summer flowers

So, the catagories I was thinking of for you all to submit for are:

Nature and outdoors
Pets
Landscape
Sport

Please also include some info about the camera you use and a small review as if its easy to use or requires hours of sifting through the manual!

Send your photos to:

Our very own Sara is getting us up and running with a couple of photos she has sent in for the gallery.

Her chosen pieces are Killiney Bay in Dublin..

And her own take on some lovely summer flowers..

Jeanette seems to have stumbled onto a good night out had by this seemingly inocent teddy bear.....
