Research

The key to discovering a definitive diagnostic test for M.E. (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis) is well-designed multivariate research.

This should, in turn, lead us to suggestions for treatment and a cure for this awful illness.

Research Funding

Serious research costs serious money.

Funding, often, comes from government sources in the form of grants from scientific bodies such as the Medical Research Council (MRC) in the UK and equivalent bodies in other countries around the world.

Large multi-national corporations, such as drugs companies with an interest in sponsoring such research, may also offer, or be approached for, research funds.

Sympathetic charities are another source of money for research projects.

Every little helps

Me Free For All.org is not currently involved in any fundraising projects for research but will publicise any organisation or individual who is.

Initiatives to raise money include sponsored events such as fun runs, climbing or swimming, or less strenuous activities including car boot sales and sponsored walks.

Every time you ‘click’

Special thanks to Veronica Jones, from ME Chat, for introducing us to an easy and free way to give with  www.everyclick.com, a search engine that can be used to help charities in general or to nominate M.E. charities such as MERUK (formally MERGE).

She and others in the M.E. community keep us informed with just how much we have raised, and tips to increase the total.

VegEPA for ME scheme

Lynne Kersh, whose daughter Daliany is a long-term sufferer of M.E., has come up with this scheme to help aid ME research.  Visitors who purchase VegEPA products from her website will have a percentage of their money put towards research. Visit her website here: www.thevegepaformescheme.com
