Treat M.E.

It is perhaps not surprising that no one in the world claims to have a cure for M.E. (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis), since we do not yet have an agreed definitive diagnostic test for this dreadfully debilitating illness.

Nevertheless, we aim to provide the latest information about all the treatments that are available for people with M.E., together with the people who provide them and the clinics where they are offered, in order that M.E sufferers will be better able to make an informed choice about which to pursue and which to avoid for the best outcome within our current knowledge.

Starting with primary care, from the GP, we shall consider referrals to individual specialist doctors; treatment by orthodox medicine, including drugs, in particular antidepressants; by alternative or complementary treatments, including supplements and yoga; homeopathic remedies and radical therapies (Reverse Therapy, Mickel Therapy, Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) and the Lightning Process). And we shall list all the treatment centres, NHS and private, where these are offered, with references from the people who run them and have been treated there.

All shades of opinion are invited to get a more rounded picture. People will be able to say that something has been beneficial for them, others may reply that it has not been for them, that it may be a placebo, or that the patient did not have M.E. in the first place or would have recovered with no treatment other than rest.

Please send e-mails to info(at)mefreeforall.org with "Treat M.E." in the subject line.
